Below is your complete guide to the everything shower.
The Best Everything Shower Routine
Step One: Hair Mask
The everything shower routine actually starts before you even step into the shower. For the ultimate shower experience, prep your hair ahead of time. About 3-4 hours before your shower, apply a hair oil to your scalp and strands. The type of oil you use should suit your hair porosity—basically, how well your hair absorbs moisture and products.
Lock in that hair oil with a moisture-rich hair mask. Want to go pro? Wrap your hair in saran wrap. If that’s not in the cards, just slick it back into a bun. Now, let that masterpiece marinate while you go about your day.

Step Two: Dry Brush
This step also happens pre-shower because, like your hair, your skin needs prepping too. Enter dry brushing: not only does it boost lymphatic drainage and circulation, but it also serves as a pre-shower exfoliation.
Pro tip: always brush towards your heart with short, firm strokes. Start from your feet and work upward. When you get to your stomach and armpits, switch to circular clockwise motions.

Step Three: Clarifying Shampoo
Time to step into the shower, and first up is your hair. The goal here is to remove all the product buildup before washing your body—because who wants that gunk on freshly cleaned skin?
A clarifying shampoo will help remove the oil and buildup. Just like with the hair oil, pick a shampoo based on your hair porosity.

Step Four: Moisture Shampoo
Now that your hair is squeaky clean, it’s time to add some moisture back in. Use a hydrating shampoo to replenish those natural oils we just stripped away.
There are so many great options on the market, so you really can’t go wrong. Hot tip: keep a few shampoos in rotation to avoid your hair getting “used to” one product, which can dull its effectiveness over time.

Step Five: Conditioner
Apply a conditioner that complements your moisturizing shampoo and let it sit while you move on to the next steps. Let those nourishing ingredients work their magic.

Step Six: Exfoliate Scrub
Now, it’s time for your in-shower exfoliation. Since this is the everything shower routine winter edition, we’re going for a double exfoliation.
Step slightly out of the water (I know, it’s tough in the winter) to avoid rinsing the scrub off too soon. Gently scrub in circular motions all over your body, being extra delicate in sensitive areas. Once you’re done, hop back into that steamy shower and rinse off.

Step Seven: Body Wash
Next, grab your body wash for an all-over cleanse. Now that your skin is exfoliated, shaving your legs, lady parts, and armpits will be a breeze.
While you’re at it, rinse out your conditioner. Pro tip: use cold water for the final rinse to lock in moisture and add shine.

Step Eight: Body Oil
Post-shower, it’s time to rehydrate. Just like your hair, your skin needs moisture too. Apply a body oil while your skin is still slightly damp to help it absorb better. You can do this step inside or outside the shower—your call.

Undaria Algae Body Oil
Step Nine: Serum & Moisturizer
Finally, lock everything in with a two-part finale. Start with a hyaluronic serum for added plumpness (optional but highly recommended), then follow with a rich body butter or moisturizer to seal the deal.
