Want Glass Skin? This Routine Will Get You There Fast
A glass skin routine—that annoyingly specific path to poreless, reflective skin that makes it look like you drink four liters of water a day and have never experienced stress. Is it genetic? Maybe for some. But for the rest of us, it comes down to skincare that’s layered, intentional, and just a little bit obsessive.
This post is all about my glass skin routine.

Rooted in Korean beauty principles, this routine emphasizes hydration, barrier support, and a less-is-more approach to harsh actives. It’s not about stripping your skin down—it’s about building it up.
This post breaks down my exact K-beauty-inspired glass skin routine. It’s not minimalist or lazy—it’s detailed, layered, and honestly a little intense. But it changed everything. My skin used to be a mess—flaking like crazy (no thank you, retinol), constantly irritated, red patches everywhere, and texture that made makeup look worse, not better.
I couldn’t figure out how to fix it until I committed to a real glass skin routine. Slowly, the redness calmed down. The flaking stopped. My skin started holding onto moisture. And now? It’s smooth, basically poreless, and actually reflects light in that glassy, healthy way. It took time and consistency, but this glass skin routine works—and no, I’m not gatekeeping. Every step, every product, it’s all here.
Morning Routine: Hydrated and Glossy, Not Greasy
Step 1: Gua Sha with Jojoba Oil
The first step in my morning glass skin routine, right after I peel off my mouth tape and wrinkle patches, is Gua Sha. I use an organic jojoba oil because it’s super hydrating, gentle on the skin, and I can get a large bottle for under $10. Gua Sha helps stimulate circulation, reduce puffiness, and gently sculpt the face. I typically do this for about five minutes to wake up my skin and give it a natural lift.
Step 2: Gentle Cleanse
I wash any leftover oil with water, pat my skin lightly dry and then use Heartleaf Quercetinol Pore Deep Cleansing Foam—this stuff leaves my skin squeaky clean, without messing with my skin barrier. I make sure to really work it into areas prone to blackheads, like my nose and chin.
Step 3: Antimicrobial Prep
After that, I spritz my face with Antimicrobial Spray. Is it a little neurotic? Maybe. But I don’t mess with bacteria post-cleansing.
Step 4: Chemical Exfoliation
Then comes the chemical stuff: Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Exfoliating Toner. Yes, I use it in the morning. I haven’t had any issues with irritation or peeling, probably because of how much hydration I layer on afterward. But if your skin’s more sensitive or you’re unsure, you can always skip this step in the morning and use a toner at night instead.
Step 5: Layered Hydration
Now for hydration layering: Mixsoon Glacier Water Hyaluronic Acid Serum (cooling, lightweight, does its job), followed by the Madagascar Centella Ampoule because centella is my skin’s emotional support plant. Make sure to allow each layer to fully dry before adding the next.

Step 6: Targeted Eye Care
If you want glass skin, your routine has to be a little extra. And while a lot of eye creams feel like overhyped marketing, the Black Yuja Bean Eye Cream actually delivers. It has a slight vibration when you apply it, which helps the product absorb better into the skin.
Step 7: Seal It In
Then I seal everything in with Panthenol Cream. It’s thick but not in a greasy way—more like dense hydration that actually sinks in. It has panthenol, which helps repair your skin barrier and gives that glow-from-within look. The bamboo extract is supposed to mimic your skin’s natural moisture or something, but all I know is my skin feels stronger and less reactive when I use it.
Step 8: SPF Always
Last but definitely not least—finish with sunscreen. Right now I’m into The Skinny Confidential Caffeinated Sunscreen. It has a tint that evens out my skin tone, and the caffeine helps lift, tighten, and de-puff. It’s SPF 40, so it actually protects, and it wears really well under makeup.

Night Routine: The Reset Button
Step 1: Double Cleanse
PM is when I overachieve. It starts with a double cleanse, obviously—first with the Heartleaf Pore Control Cleansing Oil, then back to the Heartleaf Quercetinol Foam. If you’re still using makeup wipes… please don’t. Your fingers are way more effective (and gentler), while wipes can be super irritating—basically the opposite of what you want if you’re going for glass skin.
Step 2: Antimicrobial Spray
I go in again with Antimicrobial Spray. I’m nothing if not consistent—and maybe a little paranoid—but I like knowing my skin is clean before layering anything on.
Step 3: CICA Reedle Shot 100
Then I go in with CICA Reedle Shot 100. Yes, it tingles. No, it’s not actual needles. It’s a K-beauty innovation that helps with product absorption and boosts collagen. Think of it as prepping your skin to actually use the expensive serums you’re about to apply.
Step 4: Barrier Repair Ampoule
Next up is the Madagascar Centella Probi-Cica Intensive Ampoule. It’s packed with fermented centella and probio-cica to instantly calm the skin and strengthen the moisture barrier. It also supports the skin’s microbiome—basically feeding it the good bacteria it needs to stay balanced. It’s lightweight, absorbs fast, and doesn’t leave behind any sticky residue.
Step 5: Choose Your Night Cream
Depending on how needy my skin feels, I pick one of two options:
For elasticity and bounce: I use the Medicube Collagen Overnight Mask. It forms a light film over the skin that firms and smooths while you sleep. It’s filled with ceramides, collagen, and adenosine to hydrate, soften lines, and boost overnight renewal—and yes, it peels off in one piece, which is weirdly satisfying.
For moisture and repair: I go with the Mixsoon Bean Cream. It’s thick but not sticky, and full of fermented ingredients like bean extract, Korean pear, and pomegranate. It locks in hydration and makes my skin feel calm, moisturized, and way more resilient by morning.
Step 6: Targeted Plumping with Volufiline
Before sealing everything in, I mix one drop of Volufiline with a little Vaseline and apply it to my under-eyes, eyelids, cheeks, forehead, and lips. Volufiline is a plant-based ingredient that subtly plumps over time by stimulating fat cell volume. It’s great for adding fullness in areas that tend to look tired or flat.
But be careful—don’t overuse it. It’s meant to be used within products, and too much can cause bumps or irritation, especially around the eyes. I keep it light and targeted, always giving my skin breaks between uses.
Step 7: Wrinkle Patches + Mouth Tape
Finally, I use the Pacifica reusable eye and brow wrinkle patches to seal it all in. They’re made from medical-grade silicone and sit perfectly over the Volufiline mix to help smooth fine lines and keep everything in place.
For my mouth, I use The Skinny Confidential Mouth Tape. It keeps me from mouth breathing (a major dehydration culprit), softens fine lines around the lips, and even helps define the jawline over time.

Why This Glass Skin Routine Works
This routine didn’t give me glass skin overnight. But after a few weeks, my skin stopped acting up and started reflecting light in a way that made people ask what highlighter I was wearing (spoiler: I wasn’t).
The mix of hydrating serums, soothing ampoules, exfoliants, and barrier creams works together to keep skin plump, smooth, and balanced. Every product has a job—whether it’s clearing out pores, calming inflammation, or locking in moisture.
Consistency is everything. Over time, this routine helps even out tone, reduce texture, and bring out that healthy, lit-from-within glow. It’s not about overloading your routine—it’s about paying attention and giving your skin what it needs, every day.
Glass Skin Maintenance Tips
Drink water—but don’t rely on it like it’s skincare. Hydration starts internally, but it doesn’t replace serums and moisturizers. Think of water as step zero, not step one. It supports healthy skin, but it won’t fix dryness or dullness on its own.
What you put in your body matters too. Topical products do a lot, but skin reflects what’s happening internally. A diet rich in antioxidants, healthy fats, and hydration-boosting ingredients can seriously support your glow. I like to back up my routine with my Pink Berry Glow Smoothie—packed with berries, collagen, and omega-rich seeds for skin that glows from within.
Always wear SPF. Every. Single. Day. Glass skin isn’t just about glow—it’s about protection, and sun damage is one of the fastest ways to undo your progress. Go for SPF 30 or higher, and reapply if you’re out and about.
Don’t switch products too fast. I know the urge to try the newest trending serum is real, but your skin needs time to adjust. Introducing too many actives or new formulas at once can throw everything off. Stick with a product for at least 2–4 weeks before deciding if it’s working, unless your skin is clearly not vibing with it.
And most importantly—pay attention. Glass skin is less about chasing perfection and more about understanding what your skin actually needs and responding to it, not just following trends.
Building a Consistent Glass Skin Routine for Long-Term Glow
Glass skin doesn’t happen overnight—it takes consistency, smart product choices, and patience. This routine is structured to support hydration, smooth texture, and a strong skin barrier. It’s not about perfection, but about creating skin that looks and feels healthy. Keep showing up for your skin daily, and the glow will follow.
